Book Club & Writing Hour: The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan

Our second book club meet, around The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan — with a writing hour before it.

9 to 10am — Writer's Table. A prompt-led writing hour taking memory as its anchor: what we inherit, what we misremember, what we choose to tell. No experience needed, and nothing has to be read aloud. Bring a notebook.

10am to 12pm — Book club. We read The Joy Luck Club through a new lens this time: mothers and daughters, what gets carried across a generation and what gets left behind, and the choice between two heritages.

KSh 1,100 to reserve a spot, which covers both and includes a drink from the book club menu. Come for the whole morning or just the book club — the writing hour is there if you'd like it.

Read as much of the book as you manage. Coming with it half-finished is fine.
